Belinda Barndollar Lazzara was born in Silver Spring, Maryland in 1971. She has been a Florida resident since 1983. She attended the University of Florida and graduated with honors in 1995 with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Science. She attended American University, Washington College of Law, in Washington D.C., earning her Juris Doctor in 1998 and Masters of Business Administration in 1999. She was admitted to the Florida Bar in 1999 and the U.S. District Court for the Middle District of Florida in 2005.
Ms. Lazzara is an active member of The Florida Bar, St. Petersburg Bar Association, Canakaris Family Law Inn of Court and The Florida Bar Foundation. She currently serves on the Executive Counsel of The Florida Bar Family Law Section, Vice-Chair of the Family Law Publications Committee, Vice-Chair of the Family Law Alternative Dispute Resolution Committee, Co-Vice Chair of the Family Law Equitable Distribution Committee and Member of the Family Law Legislative Committee. Ms. Lazzara previously served on the Board of Governors Florida Bar Young Lawyers Division from 2006 to 2011 and The Florida Bar Grievance Committee “6D)” from 2005 to 2008 and 2011 to 2015.
Ms. Lazzara joined Meros, Smith, Lazzara, Brennan & Brennan, P.A. as a contract partner in 2003 and became an equity shareholder in 2005. Her practice focus is Marital and Family Law, including dissolutions of marriage/divorce, timesharing, complex equitable distribution of assets and liabilities, alimony, child support, mediation, marital settlement agreements modifications, relocations, paternity, prenuptial agreements, appeals and domestic violence injunctions. She received her Collaborative Law Certification in May, 2015, became a Supreme Court Certified. Family Law Mediator in January, 2016, and earned Board Certification in Marital and Family Law in June, 2016.
